Hailee for “Barely Lethal” and “The Homesman”
by Georgia on April 21st, 2013 • Leave a Comment • in "Barely Lethal" (2015), "The Homesman" (2015), Articles, Movies
Hailee has signed up to star in two new movies the past couple of weeks – “Barely Lethal” and “The Homesman”. “Barely Lethal”, an indie comedy, will see Hailee star as Megan, an assassin in training who cannot deal in the real world, while “The Homesman”, another western in the same vein as “True Grit”, stars Hailee alongside Tommy Lee Jones, Meryl Streep and James Spader as an empoverished teenager who finds herself on the frontier. News has been courtesy of Deadline.
Hailee Steinfeld Joins Tommy Lee Jones Frontier Pic ‘The Homesman’
Hailee Steinfeld held her own among a cast of grizzled veterans in True Grit and earned an Oscar nod for it. Now she’s set to return to the frontier in The Homesman, opposite Tommy Lee Jones who is director, co-writer, producer and star on the period project. Steinfeld joins Meryl Streep, Hilary Swank, James Spader, John Lithgow, and Tim Blake Nelson in the pic, about a man (Jones) who teams up with a pioneer woman (Swank) to escort three insane women across the prairie back to civilization. The 16-year-old will play a poor, simple, and barefooted teenager named Tabitha Hutchinson.
Hailee Steinfeld To Star In Indie Pic ‘Barely Lethal’
Hailee Steinfeld will headline the Brett Ratner-produced Barely Lethal, which Kyle Newman is directing from a script by John D’Arco. Steinfeld, nominated for an Oscar for True Grit, plays Megan, who is raised at a boarding school that trains children to be assassins. She has a quirky sense of humor but is clueless about normal life, so when she relocates to a small rural town she discovers dealing with high school is just as hard.

First look at Hailee as Petra Arkanian in “Ender’s Game”
by Georgia on February 21st, 2013 • Leave a Comment • in "Ender's Game" (2013), Movies, Photo Gallery
The first still from “Ender’s Game” featuring Hailee as Petra Arkanian has been released, via EnderWiggin.net. The photo also features Asa Butterfield (Ender Wiggin), Khylin Rhambo (Dink) and Moises Arias (Bonzo). A still breakdown can be seen below courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.
In the still (see a high-res version here), Petra and Ender share a meal in the dining facility alongside their fellow Salamander Army (see those patches on their jumpsuits?) soldiers. That means this is still early on in Ender’s journey, as Salamander is the first army he is recruited to after his time as a Launchie. At the far left end of the table, you can see Bonzo Madrid (Moises Arias), the cruel commander of Salamander Army, who, in the novel, resents having the under-trained Ender fighting alongside him. Fortunately for Ender, Petra proves to be a true and loyal friend — not to mention an expert fighter.
The background of the photo also contains a few gems for super-fans. The scoreboard, which displays daily rankings of all Battle School recruits, looks to be broadcasting a battle between Rat Army and Asp Army, in what appears to be a spherical or circular Battle Room. Director Gavin Hood played coy about the look of the Battle Room when EW spoke with him in December. “I really hope that what we’ve done with [it] will be exciting to people,” he said

Hailee Steinfeld in “The Magic Bracelet”
by Georgia on December 9th, 2012 • 1 Comment • in "The Magic Bracelet" (2013), Movies
Hailee Steinfeld, Bailee Madison and Jackson Rathbone are teamig up to bring a brave girl’s story into fruition. “The Magic Bracelet” was written by Rina Goldberg, who suffered from mitochondrial disease, and explores the relationship between two friends, Angela and Ashley, and a magic bracelet. Rina’s original story is being adapted by screen writer, Diablo Cody, and will be directed by Jon Poll.
Hailee will be playing the role of Angela alongside Bailee’s Ashley.
The movie is currently being filmed in Los Angeles from December 7 to December 10.
This is an uplifting story about a ‘magic’ bracelet with a mysterious past and mystical powers that ultimately link two teenagers, Angela (Hailee Steinfeld) and Ashley (Bailee Madison) and their make-shift families. Ashley, with a cheese-obsessed dog (Surf Dog Ricochet) in tow, has visions of finding a cure for her life-threatening illness.
You can learn more about Rina, her illness and the inspiration for the story at her offical website. You can also follow the official Facebook page for more updates.

The official synopsis for Hailee’s space-age adventure thriller “Ender’s Game” has been released and a release date has been confirmed. “Ender’s Game” will hit international film screens on November 1, 2013. Hailee stars alongside Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford, Abigail Breslin and Viola Davis.
In the near future, a hostile alien race (called the Formics) have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander, Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost. In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young children to find the future Mazer. Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield), a shy, but strategically brilliant boy is pulled out of his school to join the elite.
Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters increasingly difficult war games, distiguising himself and winning respect amongst his peers. Ender is soon ordained by Graff as the military’s next great hope, resulting in his promotion to Command School. Once there, he’s trained by Mazer Rackham, himself, to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.

According to Deadline.com Hailee is attached to a new project, this time an action flick alongside Kevin Costner. The film is still untitled, and under the working title of “Three Days to Kill”, but Hailee’s character is a lead. A summary of the film can be seen below.
Hailee Steinfeld, who burst on the scene with an Oscar-nominated turn in True Grit, has landed the lead role opposite Kevin Costner in the untitled action film that McG will direct for Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp and Relativity Media. Scripted by Besson and Adi Hasak under the title Three Days To Kill, the film stars Costner as a Service agent who discovers he’s dying. Before he goes, he attempts to complete a final mission, and reconnect with his estranged daughter. He’s also taking an experimental drug that could prolong his life, and that adds complexity to the ticking clock because of the drug’s hallucinatory side effects. Besson and Virginie Besson-Silla are producing with Hasak and Relativity CEO Ryan Kavanaugh. Tucker Tooley’s exec producer.
